PCCC’s Sustainer Donor Program

The fee for body burial at Prairie Creek Conservation Cemetery (PCCC) is $2000. This amount has not increased since our first burial in 2010. However, our operational cost (staff, land restoration and enhancements, insurance and educational workshops, etc.) has significantly increased over the years. Part of our mission is to keep our burial fee as low as possible to make conservation burial accessible to the broadest section of our community. We depend greatly on donations to be able to do the work we do and maintain affordable burial fees for this environmentally sustainable choice.

Our Sustainer program is a monthly donation program. To become a Sustainer you can give at any level, though we have outlined recommended levels of giving below. Recurring donations allow us to better plan and utilize your donations to have the maximum impact. All donations are tax deductible and directly support our efforts to expand the awareness and accessibility of conservation burial.

All Sustainer levels will receive special PCCC gifts and will be invited to attend Sustainer Events like concerts, guided trail walks, picnics, and more! Sustainers will receive a dedicated quarterly newsletter with updates on how we are investing your generous donations as well as all the details for upcoming Sustainer events.

PCCC Sustainer Photos

Golden Rod

$5 per month/$60 per year
Goldenrod is a perennial wildflower found along the trails here at Prairie Creek. Its striking yellow flowers can be seen throughout the late summer and fall and provide a wonderful pollen source for all of our local pollinators!

Sparkleberry

$10 per month/ $120 year
Sparkleberry is a beautiful understory tree found in the woodlands of the cemetery. In the spring, bright white flowers cover its branches before shiny dark berries appear in the summer and last throughout the fall and winter. The berries are a favorite for local wildlife including deer and birds.

Hickory

$20 per month/$240 per year
Hickories are lovely dappled shade tress whose nuts provide food for many woodland creatures. Two varieties of hickory trees can be found at PCCC: mockernut hickories and pignut hickories, both of which can be found along the Kathy Cantwell Trail.

Magnolia

$50 per month/$600 per year
Magnolias are a beautiful evergreen tree that blooms in the spring and into early summer. With their large, glossy green leaves and creamy white flowers, they are an iconic part of the southern landscape. Magnolias can be found all over the cemetery, both in the forests and a few nestled within our grassy meadows.

Live Oak

$100 per month/$1,200 per year
Live Oaks are a picturesque staple to the landscape at PCCC. Providing invaluable food, shelter, and nesting for a wide range of wildlife, they are a key species in preserving the rich biodiversity found in the cemetery.
